The Ivory Foundation supports the association Pallia-Aide, an association involved in the Palliative Care Unit of the Hospital Archet 1 in Nice.

This association aims to provide support to the palliative care teams for the benefit of patients and their families.

This support may be in the form of human or material assistance, and activities aiming to promote palliative approach (in institutions and at home) and an easier access to knowledge for the patients, professionals, volunteers and the general public. Additionally, the association may conduct or support research activities in the field of palliative care.

 

Activities of Pallia-Aide in the Palliative Care Unit:

-Funding of a halftime nurse position: this person is at the service of patients, families, peers, acting in close collaboration with the healthcare team.

-Improving the well-being of the patients in everyday life: room decoration, purchase of computer equipment, fun food (ice creams, sorbets, gourmet coffees…), SPA-like bathroom, financing the involvement of a socio-beautician and a hair-dresser, organization of birthdays for the patients, promotion of art in the hospital: lyrical performances, visual artist interacting with patients…

 

 

 

-Improvement of the reception of families and carers: decorating the family room, slideshow, coffee, drinks, snacks available for a warm welcome.

-Organization of training for caregivers and support to research in palliative care.
