In Dawady, in eastern Senegal, Aly, a nurse at the health centre, regularly travels around the surrounding villages by motorbike with the Kaicedrat mobile team.
Their mission: to monitor pregnant women and young children in around twenty hard-to-reach communities.
Thanks to these visits, health problems can be detected early and patients referred to the Dawady centre if necessary.
This programme, supported since 2015 by The Ivory Foundation, improves access to healthcare in rural areas and helps reduce maternal and infant mortality.
